George Strack, Tribal Historic Preservation Officer,The Miami Tribe of Oklahoma’s Fort Wayne Cultural Resource Extension Office (CREO), hosted a wonderful event at the Museum on the evening of September 18, 2015 as part of the Statewide Indiana Archaeology Month activities.
The theme for the program, “Weaving Many Threads – meesaanaapiikohkiiyankwi,” was intended to showcase the intersection of modern archaeological investigation and collaboration between the historic tribes of the State of Indiana. Tribal representatives and archaeologists working in the region discussed the mutual benefits of collaboration and cooperation in conducting research to protect and preserve sites of historic and cultural importance.
